Giving Back to Charities

Daisy in HandOne of the advantages of writing for Squidoo was how easy their writing platform made it to create lenses (webpages) that would benefit different charities. Over the years, as a result of the pages that I wrote I was able to give back over $5,500 to more than 20 different charities.

In addition, from the income earned writing at Squidoo, I was also able to give back to our community supporting teachers, school and youth programs.

Giving back and helping others is beneficial to the giver as well as the recipient.

The plan for The Costume Detective site is keep my costume, DIY and craft pages updated, alive and available for the thousands who visited the pages on Squidoo. I also intend to continue contributing a portion of any proceeds generated from the site to charity.

The two charities that I have chosen to be recipients of proceeds are Dog Tags for Kids and our local children and community theater, MYACT. Read more about them at the Giving Back page.
