DIY Sadness’s Long Term Memory Retrieval Manual
One of the important accessories when creating a Sadness Costume from Disney Pixars Inside Out is to carry a mock-up version of the Long Term Memory Retrieval Manual, Volume 47 published by Pillar Pathways Press.
The Long Term Memory Retrieval Manual is the book binder that Joy has Sadness read to keep her occupied and out of mischief.
Her knowledge of the inner workings of memory storage proves to be invaluable knowledge when Joy and Sadness get stuck in long term memory and allows Sadness to ultimately save the Riley and the day.

Make a Memory Retrieval Manual
A DIY version of the Long Term Memory Retrieval Manual can be made very easily by printing out paper using the templates we have created and inserting it into a standard white binder.

DIY Long Term Memory Retrieval Manual
Making a mock version of the Long Term Memory Retrieval Manual is really easy. Just download and print out our version of the binder guide graphics, inspired by Disney Pixar’s Inside Out and insert them into any basic 3 ring binder you happen to have around.

Materials
- Long Term Memory Manual graphics
- Basic Three Ring Binder
- Stack of Hole-punched Papers
Instructions
- Download and print the Long Term Memory Manual graphics front (above), back and side covers (below).
- Place the printed graphics into the binder covers—front, back and side. The side title graphic gets slid into the “Customizable” section of the basic binder to the right.
- Add the stack of punched paper so the binder looks full of instructions.
Consider gluing or inconspicuously taping the edges together so your binder/manual stays shut while you are carrying it around as your costume accessory.
The backside graphic is an imagined version to complete the DIY Sadness accessory.
