Make a Beautiful Blue Elsa Frozen Foil Wrapper Rose (a.k.a Ferrero Rocher Rose or Hershey’s Kiss Rose)
Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Honey Mints are a delicious chocolaty treat. Made with just three ingredients (chocolate liquor, honey and oil of peppermint). The mints don’t last long in our house, but the beautiful irridescent blue foil wrappers do.

Rating: Easy
Time: 8 – 10 minutes
The T.J.’s Dark Chocolate Honey Mint T.J.’s wrappers are such a beautiful shade of irridescent turquoise blue (Elsa blue) that I have a hard time throwing them out, so I figured out a way to repurpose the old foil wrappers into flowers.
Since the foil wrapper shade is the same as Queen Elsa’s dress in Frozen, I realized they could be used to make beautiful irridescent blue Elsa Frozen Foil Wrapper Roses.
These beautiful blue foil wrapper roses are fun craft idea for any Elsa from Frozen Fan, especially if you get to make them after eating the mints.
The blue foil wrapper rose looks like it belongs in the hand of my daughter’s adorable Frozen Elsa Disney Funko Pop figure.

Materials to Make a Foil Wrapper Rose
The blue foil wrapper roses is inspired from repurposing Ferrero Rocher wrappers into roses. These foil roses have also been done using Hershey’s Kisses Wrappers.

First you need to decide what color of rose you want to make or the kind of chocolate you want to eat as part of this project.
- Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Honey Mints (my favorites) – in turquoise blue
- Ferrero Rocher Chocolate (several different types) – gold, silver, brown
- Hershey’s Kisses (come in a variety of foil colors depending on the season)
Out of all of these options the Hershey’s Kisses may have the most versatility, since they wrap kisses in different colors depending on the holiday season.
I just happen to love the beautiful blue from the Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Honey Mints.
Note: Eating chocolates or mints may be the best part of making the foil wrapper roses.
However, if you are worried about the extra calories, then just get some 3 x 3 inch square foil candy wrappers.

Steps to Make a Foil Wrapper Rose
Take care when working with the foil wrappers. They can tear easily. As you can see from the wrapper that I used, it’s allright if you have some tears, just be sure to hide them in areas where they won’t be seen. (Click on the images to see them enlarged)

Foil Wrapper Rose Directions by Kirsti A. Dyer (The Costume Detective)

Written foil wrapper rose directions:
- After eating the chocolate, flatten and smooth out the foil wrapper.
- Fold one edge (the long one if you have a long edge).
- Fold sides in to create a smooth edge.
- Roll up foil into rose.
- When rolling the foil slightly offset the edges. This will make the foil wrapper look more like a rose.
- Flatten the remaining part to form a stem.
- Carefully twist the stem to hold the rose.
Note: If you are working with a square, some of the other directions recommend folding the square into a triangle. This makes a smaller rose than folding the edges.

If you don’t have access to Trader Joe’s Mint (they are too expensive to order on Amazon), I found some light blue foil wrapper squares (3 by 3 inches) on Amazon so you can make your own Elsa Frozen Wrapper Rose. You should be able to find them on Etsy and eBay too.
